I think this is a technique that would not work as well in other books, and the reason it works in this book is because for the majority of the novel there is only two characters.Įxample: : "This was not a safe place."Įffect: This technique to me makes the readers see how the two character are in the book. They get straight to the point, and do not talk very offen. Which works in this case since the two main characters are both very straight forward and dont talk about nonsense. In my opinion the laque of quotation marks make the dialogue more plain. Example: : What is that papa?
